2026 TRIP

I arrived home on Sunday at 5:10. That was after a day of driving that defined very heavy and many hours of traffic at a dead stop.  When I hit the road that morning my ETA to get home was earlier than 1 PM.  The traffic on the NJ Tpke through Staten island and into eastern Nassau County was a nightmare.  I attributed it to people returning home on Sunday after weekends away or Father’s Day visits or even people going to see the US Open Golf Tournament in Southampton.  When I got home that was not the end of issues.

Besides having to do 3 loads of laundry, run to the supermarkets and other chores which I had anticipated, what I hadn’t foreseen was that while I was away there had been some stormy weather which had caused power surges and outages. This led to me having to reconnect many of my smart (Alexa) devices and my primary desktop computer.  The desktop was what I had planned to use to edit more pictures and most notably the videos from Zion National Park.

I’m pretty good when it comes to computer stuff but after a day and a half of trying, I conceded that my Windows installation was fried.  My favorite toy went to the local computer doctor to have Windows reinstalled and that will probably mean I’ll have to reinstall all of my programs... it did.  So for now I’ll just sit and catch up on all the TV shows and other things I have to do.

Today as I complete the web page documenting my trip it is three weeks since I returned. Both the trip and the ensuing time have both flown by.
